A small time secondhand - car dealer whose business was on the brink of collapse won a hefty sum of RM4.3 million in Sports Toto jackpot game last Saturday.

After receiving his winning cheque from an official of Sports Toto yesterday (Monday), the happy winner grinning from ear to ear said, "This money has come at a time when I most need it to solve my problem. In fact, I have been trying hard to sell my house in the past couple of months in order to maintain my family and business.

He said because of the economic downturn, he was not able to sell even one car in the past six to seven months and whatever savings he had saved had been used up. In order to keep his family and business going he had to sell off his Mercedes earlier on and he is driving a little Kancil now. As his business has still not improved, he decided to try to sell his house as well. However, he also encountered difficulties in selling his property because the price offered was much less than what he originally paid for it.

"But all these problems are behind me now." He said.

The lucky winner from Kuala Lumpur said he bought four system 7 tickets at a cost of RM28 on Super Toto 6/49 game last Saturday. One of the system 7 combinations won him the first prize jackpot prize as six of its seven numbers: 2, 8, 18, 24, 36 and 41 were drawn as the first prize winning numbers for Super Toto 6/49 jackpot on the same evening.

In addition to the first prize jackpot, the same system 7 tickets also won  6 sets of third prize at RM2,888 each while another system 7 ticket won him three sets of sixth prize at RM38 each making his total winnings of RM4,312,851.10.

According to the winner, the numbers he bet are ages of his family members and his birth date. On every Toto draw he would, without fail, use these numbers and their variants to buy four system 7 tickets on Super Toto 6/49.

He said he is a regular Toto punter and he has been using the same sets of numbers to bet on Toto 6/49 and later Super Toto 6/49 jackpot game for the last 10 years. He never dreamed that he would win such a big windfall.
