THE BEGINNING

Sports Toto Malaysia Sdn Bhd was incorporated in 1969 by the Government of Malaysia. The eighties witnessed the making of a significant milestone in Sports Toto’s corporate history. The Company was privatised on 1st August 1985, relinquishing henceforth, status quo as a state-owned gaming enterprise. Sports Toto is currently a wholly-owned subsidiary of Berjaya Sports Toto Berhad which is listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.

SPORTS TOTO, TODAY

Today, Sports Toto is the sole national lotto operator with over 680 outlets throughout Malaysia and offers a variety of games – digit-type games (namely, 4D, 5D and 6D) and lotto-type games (namely, Toto 6/42 Jackpot, Super Toto 6/49, Mega Toto 6/52) – for the patronage of the Malaysian gaming market.

Since 1969, the Company has donated substantial amounts to the promotion and development of sports, youth and cultural activities in the nation. The Company has an ongoing commitment as a responsible corporate citizen.

The Company will continue to support and nurture sporting excellence in the country through its contributions. In line with the Company’s philosophy of promoting a caring society, it also makes contributions to charitable organizations, the sick, the aged, the poor and the needy.

OUR LOGO

The Company’s concentric circular logo traces its origins to the Greek amphitheatre - the historical symbol of the sporting arena. The concept of the logo symbolises the Company’s commitment to promote and develop sporting excellence in the country; formalising the original raison d’etre of the Company. The corporate colours of red and black in the logo represent solidarity and strength of commitment.

OUR EMPLOYEES

Today, the Company has a total staff strength of more than 450 working at its head office in Kuala Lumpur and branches throughout Malaysia, and over 1,500 staff employed by agents of the Company.

TOTO BIRD

As part of our promotion and marketing campaign we have introduced a mascot 'The Toto Bird' depicted as a caricature parakeet. The parakeet is chosen because of its long association with fortune-telling and is always seen as a bird heralding good fortune, thus being appropriate for a gaming business. We employed the caricature of the parakeet along with the slogan "GO FOR IT!" and these have been the theme in all our promotional campaigns, advertisement materials, in the introduction of new Toto games, and thereby enhancing Sports Toto's presence in major sports events, charities and other company functions.
